Building Facts

  • Construction Phase: The School started out in two modular buildings (10,000 square feet) located where we now have our athletic field. In August of 2000, Trinity began with two classrooms of Kindergarten, and one class of first grade, second grade, third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade. In May 2002, construction began on the first phase of our permanent facility, the education building, located on what had been our playground. The proposed phase two consists of a chapel, media center and performing arts facility.
  • Architect/Builder: Architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design by FMK Architects. Rodgers Builders, Inc. completed construction in 2003.
  • Square Footage: Trinity’s education building and gymnasium have over 85,790 square feet and is designed strategically for the kindergarten through eighth-grade student. There are three floor levels, which are based on grade level and students’ needs.

  • Building Features: Large climate controlled classrooms with natural lighting, scenic views of Center City and structural convenience to student learning, including:

- conjoining resource rooms for subject area teachers

- internal IT infrastructure with external fractional T-1

- wide hallways with 10-foot ceilings that provide ample space and movement between classrooms and common areas.

- Art room with kiln and dark room

- Middle School Commons space for flexible, large group gatherings

- Only K-8 school in North Carolina with indoor track and gym this size

  • Alexander Street Park: A collaborative effort between Trinity Episcopal School, Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation, the Charlotte Housing Authority and the City of Charlotte to refurbish and reopen Alexander Street Park.This revitalized park, located in the Belmont neighborhood, features six tennis courts, two half-court basketball courts, a soccer field, pavilion and playground.
